Entries now live for 2024 Next Gen events
People of all ages and abilities can now enter the 2024 Run 4 Wales Next Gen events – a series of fun family events that aim to inspire a future generation of healthy and active adults.
They offer people a chance to get involved with event weekend, giving them a sense of achievement and allowing them to soak up the atmosphere and get moving without having to take on the full distance.
Available across the whole of the Run 4 Wales portfolio including the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon, Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K, Ogi Porthcawl 10K and ABP Newport Marathon Festival, the junior races include a family-focused Fun Run, a Toddler Dash for little runners in the making, as well as the popular Future Challengers race aimed at talented young athletes and junior club runners looking to take part in a competitive race.
At the CDF 10K there will be a family Fun Run option.
The distances vary at each event with 2K at both Cardiff Bay and CDF, one mile at Newport and Porthcawl and 2.4K at the Cardiff Half.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, said: “We’re really passionate about providing memorable experiences for young people – from toddlers and children who may be trying out their first running event to the budding athletes of the future.
“Our Next Gen programme was set up with the aim to support future generations of healthy, active adults, enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing and encourage them on a pathway of good health and fitness.
“It’s really important to us to ensure there is something for everyone at our events. That’s why we’ve included the traditional no-pressure Fun Run options as well as a competitive race for youngsters alongside our standalone events.”
