NSPCC Team Up With Run 4 Wales On National Childhood Day To Keep Children Safe
We’re proud to be teaming up with the Wizz Air Cardiff Half Marathon Lead Charity Partner, NSPCC Cymru, as part of National Childhood Day, to provide a school in Wales with a free mud kitchen as part of R4W’s Random Acts of Kindness campaign. A mud kitchen is an outdoor play kitchen for kids, helping to develop their creativeness and pretending to work in a kitchen.
NSPCC are encouraging those across the UK to get involved this Childhood Day, by having fun, volunteering or taking action in the bid to help keep children safe. You can find more information on how to help here: https://www.nspcc.org.uk/support-us/events-fundraising/childhood-day/
As a part of the pledge to keep children safe and well, R4W are offering to donate a Mud Kitchen to a school in Wales. The importance of play for kids in their childhood is undisputed, helping their brains to develop and communication skills to mature.
The gift comes as part of R4W’s Act of Kindness Campaign, where the event organisers of the Cardiff Half Marathon and Newport Wales Marathon are celebrating ten years of events in Wales with ten random acts of kindness across 2022.
Parents can now apply for which school they’d like to see benefit from a mud kitchen by using the following application form: R4W 10 (confirmsubscription.com)
Emily Rowlands, Fundraising Manager at NSPCC commented: ‘We all have a part to play in keeping children safe from abuse. That’s why the NSPCC has launched Childhood Day, the charity’s flagship day of fundraising and action that brings everyone in the UK together to help protect children. Whether it’s by fundraising, donating, volunteering at a collection, or taking action, we can all do our bit on Friday 10 June.’
Applications for nominations of schools open on Friday 10 June, and a winner will be chosen on 13 June.
