A world-class closed road cycling sportive and UCI sanctioned professional race, showcasing Wales as a host for major global cycling events with stunning 140, 125 and 60KM routes. R4W delivered the complex event, which attracted 40,000 cyclists during its lifetime and spanned five local authority areas in partnership with IRONMAN. We coordinated a comprehensive community engagement and public awareness campaign to over 200,000 residents and businesses – encouraging significant spectator support and positive sentiment throughout local communities despite widespread road closures. R4W worked across multiple agencies to deliver a safe and high-quality event experience for cyclists, spectators and the local community whilst creating opportunities for corporate brands, sponsors and charities to engage.

2019 Atlantic Championships

More than 20 nations including Spain, Argentina, Turkey, Brazil and Kenya assembled teams for the prestigious Atlantic Championships in 2019, held across four Welsh locations. We worked with Welsh Bowls to deliver the online ticketing platform, marketing and communications strategy and community engagement programme for the two-week event. It was a huge success, paving the way for Wales to bid to host future editions of the World Bowls Championships.

Royal Welsh Trail

A series of trail running events delivered in partnership with the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, integrated into their Spring Festival. Stunning half marathon, 10K and 3K courses took in the valleys, fields, woodland tracks and stunning forestry surrounding the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells. The event was held between 2015-2017 and hosted the Welsh Trail Running and Welsh Inter-regional Trail Running Championships.
