Run 4 Wales is a not-for-profit social enterprise and charitable trust set-up to promote, manage and deliver major sporting events.

Job Purpose
Assisting the Finance Manager in all financial and administrative functions to ensure that the organisation’s financial health is maintained, and resources are used appropriately.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant with a passion for figures and all things excel to join the team. The three main areas of the role would be bookkeeping, payroll and financial reporting.
Our charitable status means you have a huge impact in our team and the sustainability of our grass root projects. We have a small team who create superb events, so confidentiality in the role is also key.
This is a part-time position worked flexibly (preferably over 3 days a week.)
The team are all involved in making our events a success. A part of this role would be also supporting the operational team on our event weekends, with time off in lieu. No experience in events is necessary for working for this part of the role.
As a part of the probationary period, we would offer support and training in our headquarters in Cardiff. After successfully completing your probationary period, we offer flexible working with one day a week working from home.

Key roles & responsibilities
- Creating, sending, and following up on invoices and bills.
- Creating financial reports on a regular basis.
- Working directly with the Finance Manager and supporting them in their role by maintaining accurate financial records.
- Entering financial data into the system.
- Updating financial records.
- Checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
- Maintaining files and records in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Recording, storing, accessing, and analysing computerised financial information.
- Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Manager.
- Reviewing and adhering to department budgets.
- Adhering to the organisation’s financial policies and procedures.
- Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
Person specification
Qualifications and Experience – essential
- Full Driving license
- Minimum English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent alternative), or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Previous experience in a Finance environment.
- Knowledge/experience of using a Financial or equivalent systems (Desirable).
- Experience of office or Business Administration (Desirable).

- Excellent data entry skills and a talent for numerical coding.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.

Availability
- Ability to work event weekends currently 8 per year.
